Once you have had a new boiler fitted, it will need to be serviced the following year.
The boiler should be serviced annually to ensure it is running properly. It allows engineers to detect any underlying issues which can help to prevent breakdowns and keeps the boiler within its manufacturer warranty.
Standard boiler service steps
Our gas safe engineer will firstly complete a visual inspection of the boiler. They will check that the parts look correct as well as checking for leaks, corrosive damage and checking the boiler flame.
Once the engineer has completed the external checks, they will remove the casing and complete internal checks on the boiler. Checks will be completed on the burner, heat exchanger and other components.
The next step is for the engineer to complete checks such as on the flue, a gas pressure check and checking that the boiler fires up properly.
To keep your boiler working at its highest level, the engineer will complete a clean on essential parts.
More tests will be completed. These will be on different components such as the electrical connections, fans, seals, controls, safety devices, pressure flow, flue and ventilation.
A record of checks will be created, this will be given to the property owner to keep for future inspections.
The boiler will be restarted to check that everything is running properly. If the engineer adjusted any settings during testing, they will be returned to the customers preferences.
